introduction - Wear to Work from Saks

I'm Helen Ho Orth, and I had a fourteen year career as a corporate technocrat/bureaucrat mostly working in the IT and telecom industries.  I started this blog to share ideas on great things to wear to the office.  Quality of garments matter.  John T. Molloy, the author of "Dress for Success" will back me up on this.  He once did an experiment where three similar looking job candidates with identical looking resumes attended a job fair.  His confederates were dressed in three red blazers.  The first candidate was wearing a good quality blazer bought from a place like Saks Fifth Avenue. The second was wearing something that would be more likely found at a mid-market retailer.  The third candidate wore a cheap jacket.

The third candidate didn't get a single call back.  The second candidate didn't get any face to face interviews.  The third candidate was the only one offered a real interview.  Appearances matter. "Buy less. Choose well. Make it last. Quality, not quantity. " - Vivienne Westwood  Things from Saks will last, and give you that extra boost of confidence that fast fashion cannot offer.
